I am still slim...I have been wanting to drop by for a few lines but have been extremely busy...

I landed on a new and excfiting career in March 2011 and have had a very hectic schedule since then travelling all over Europe and dealing with regulatory affairs to get the products of the company I work for legalized in all European markets. It has been an exciting career-fulfilling ride all along. There were however times when I gained a few kilos here and there due to switching airplanes, stressing out through airport alleys and eating hotel food, only to shed them off again once I would find my groove back. Ultimately I found a solution to keep my health and figure at bay. I learned to see to it that I had to book hotels with gyms or fitness centers and I gradually got used to locating the nearest park to my hotel if this hotel didn't have a fitness center. It is actually an easy task.

The attached photo is of me in Rome in front of the Coliseum taken in the end of January 2012.

I hope you're all doing great here bellas! See you again soon!

My husband and I after we've lost weight

We were at a costume party in Novemebr 2010...I went as the love fairy and my hubby went as James Bond. I had fun avoiding to dress up as Big Bertha.

To see a clearer photo of my husband when he was still chubby, please go to blog archives for November 2009  and click on "birthday dinner preparations".

Husband & wife team, a team that works if you play your cards right

A weight-loss endeavor is like a project...you need support from people around you to succeed. Mine is my husband...he was also chubby/fat like me and now he looks hot. He was working out to lose weight for 6 months (he lost 10 kilos by plainly working out) before he tried my "NOdiet" diet. Then he reached a weightloss plateau that he couldn't get out of. When he tried my meals, he lost 15 kilos more. Together we rock and we make a statement! People who saw how fat we were before are amazed whenever they see us now at parties or events.  We're both over 45 and people think we look great and young for our age. We're glad people look at us that way but we're happier that we FEEL great and young and are not sick so often anymore...I have not had a cold nor any other form of illness for a year and a half now and am thankful for that.

8.4 Ks walks & 11.2 Ks runs

When I went out of my house for an exercise for the very first time, this was on October 12, 2009, I weighed a little more than 89 kilos...I think, to be exact, I weighed 89.9 kilos, and I COULD BARELY WALK FOR 15 MINUTES WITHOUT PANTING. Well, after my first 15 minutes walk that day, I walked again the next day, the third day, the 4th day and then I found myself taking 15 minute walks for a week...the week later I raised the time  to 20 minutes and  my speed to a bit faster than the turtle strides I took during the first week.

Do you remember the line in the movie "Forest Gump" saying: "Run Forest Run!" ? Well, I kind of told myself this everyday during my first few weeks of trying to lose weight..."Walk Amor Walk!"...and so I did a few minutes a day, and the days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months and now... HEY, I've been doing it for more than a year! And am not just walking anymore! Iam doing power walks of 8.4 Ks for 1 hour &10 minutes and runs of 11.2 Ks for 1 hour & 40 minutes...and I do it even when it's 10 degrees below zero outdoors (I only run outdoors, not on the tread mill/at the gym), and I only rest once a week...so m'Belles, I am now doing my weekly marathon and I guess what I am trying to say is....

Fitness is possible anywhere and any time for everyone...you just have to want it badly and do it yourself, for yourself!
