I have six Christmas parties to attend to this week. I've already gone to three and am now bracing myself for the other half.
Oh, and two of the three happen to be in the same night. In different parts of town. Will I go to both? Of course!
Thank God that I work at home. Unlike most freelancers, I shy away from work during the holidays. I do this because I love to go all out and celebrate the holidays, but I also have to spend quality time with my family when I come to in the morning. When December rolls in, it's basically a long party for me.
It's a little indulgent yes, but I only do this one month in a year. Other people go on summer vacations, but me, I like to spend a month in Christmas.
Since I've had S though, sleep has become a more precious commodity. Right now as I type this, I can literally feel wrinkles drawing themselves under my eyes. S is a morning baby, meaning she is at her cutest and most adorable at seven in the morning, right when I am just getting my sleep cycle on. It's hard to totally change my sleep schedule, but one look at S' chubby face and beatific smile and it makes it all worth it.
Some of you may think I am crazy, but I will not spend Christmas any other way.
