7x7 Challenge - Day 01

06 February 2012

Being able to stay sweets-free for one week, I am so ready to take part in the next challenge. 7000 steps per day for 7 days? I think this can be done, but it will not be easy. Unlike the last challenge, there is an effort for the belles to strive and complete the challenge.

First order of business: Get a pedometer.

I was a bit worried that I won't be able to take part of this challenge just because of the pedometer. Thankfully, something in my mind made me check CD-R King's website, and true enough they do have pedometer, which I asked my sister to drop by at just to get me one.

However, when I put on battery, it was difficult for me to close the plastic flap. With a heavy heart, I went out on my journey and walked... without really getting to count my steps.

I walked two hours this morning, plus the many steps I made in and out of the house while doing chores. Was the effort enough for me to get 7000 steps needed for this day? I don't know, but I sure hope so.

Day 1 is a so-so for me. I did walk, but the result was uncertain. Am I defeated on the first day? I hope not.. but if I did fail, then I guess I will just add one day on my challenge.

ps - Since my sister bought the pedometer at a branch in Makati and we live in Caloocan City, it would be a hassle for us to have the pedometer replaced, so I just did something to secure the battery flap - by securing it with masking tape. Since it's not really sticky, it will be easy to take it off if the battery needs replacing.

No Sweets Challenge - Day 07

04 February 2012

I wasn't able to go out and walk this morning because I was just way too tired to get up and walk. I also wasn't able to do any of my scheduled workouts, but I was able to enjoy the day with my sister - having the much needed haircut and later having an early dinner at Tri-Mo Shawarma Co in Lagro, Quezon City.

I know the "No Sweets Challenge" only runs from Monday to Friday, but I challenged myself further by going the full week (7 Days), and I am happy to say that I was able to do it. No sweets (not even the 1 tbsp sugar allowance), no coffee. What a sweet victory for me!

The next week, I will face sweets, but of course, in total moderation. :)

my diet for today, Sunday, 5 February was... (Average)
Breakfast 1 piece sliced White bread + thin spread of mayonnaise
Lunch 1 pack Lucky Me! Pansit Canton
Dinner 1 Special Beef Shawarma with Cheese (Tri-Mo Shawarma Co - Lagro)
  Glasses of water 13

No Sweets Challenge - Day 06

03 February 2012

Today, I walked a lot!

> 6:30ish am = I did my usual morning walks (2 hours)

> 10:00 am = I walked from our house to the highway

> 11:30 - 12nn / 1:00 - 1:30 = walked around the mall (Ever Commonwealth)

> 2:30 - 5:30 = walked around the mall and supermarket (SM Fairview); last 30 minutes of it, I was carrying 8lbs of dumbbells.

I was so tired... really, really tired! But I drew inspiration from a jogger I saw this morning - he didn't have any foot wear (by choice - he was carrying his flip flops while jogging), yet he was "flying."

Day 06... still no sweets (and coffee).

my diet for today, Sunday, 5 February was... (Satisfactory)
Breakfast 1 serving Pansit Palabok (which I bought at the Karinderya)
Lunch Chicken Inasal Meal (Tribu Express - Ever Commonwealth)
Dinner Chicken Heaven Meal (Chicken BBQ) at Hainanese Delights - SM Fairview

No Sweets Challenge - Day 05

Quite an uneventful day - wasn't able to walk because it rained that morning, but I still was able to do my scheduled video workouts. No temptations for me today, so one big star for Day 05 of the challenge.

Lunch 1/2 cup rice, 1/3 cup Ginataang Sitaw at Kalabasa (no meat)
Dinner 1/2 cup rice, 80g steamed Tilapia, 3 tablespoons leftover Ginataang Sitaw at Kalabasa.

No Sweets Challenge - Day 04

01 February 2012

The first of the month is my weigh-in day. When I stepped on the scales, I found out I lost 5lbs. and all in all, I have already lost 29lbs for the last four months. 47lbs to go and I will reach my goal weight.

My diet has been good and I was able to do all my scheduled workouts today. I heard that the family will go grocery shopping and I am looking forward in buying another box of Fitnesse Cereals (the original flavor), hoping there will still be free Les Mills DVD free inside. I need to get the Latin one. :)

I received an invitation to attend a Chocolate Workshop happening this Saturday... but I still haven't responded - because my challenge will go through Saturday, and I didn't want to fail this challenge on the last day. I will go ask my boyfriend about this before I decide.

Still sugar free on Day 04, Yey for that!

my diet for today, Thursday, 2 February was... (Excellent)
Breakfast 1 cup boiled macaroni with spaghetti sauce and cheese (no meat)
Lunch 1/2 cup rice, 1/2 cup beef bistek with green beans, 1 slice ripe papaya
  Snack n/a
Dinner 1/2 cup rice, leftover beef bistek with green beans, 1/2 cup tinola soup (no chicken) with sili leaves
  Glasses of water 13
