DIET and...

...this other thing--EXERCISE? Now, this is the real challenge I have yet to take. There really is just no time at all! I just don't have the luxury to go to the gym or spend at least 30 minutes of my time doing the stretching and the jumping, etc, etc. I'm just too tired when i get home from work! I do try to take the stairs rather than the elevator or walk a little faster when I make my rounds...but that's about it. I feel that I still need a sort of work-out regimen, a simple one at least that doesn't take so much time. I know I'm losing the weight, but my body needs all the toning it could get. I don’t really want the flabs on my body hangin’ around forever! Haay...this is really going to be difficult...

Another 5 lbs down and still counting!

...I am beggining to wonder though...is this normal?--5 lbs every week?  Don't anyone get me wrong, I'm not starving. In fact, it's the first time I've had a regular 3-complete-meals-a-day diet! It's weird, I don't even have the usual hunger pangs and it's so easy for me to say "no" or look away (without the guilt) from the food I usually take in. Seriously speaking, I just don't want them the way I used to...Haha! I make food sound like a relationship! But then again, I guess I do treat the food I eat as if it was the most precious thing to me. Well, it STILL is...as long as its low in the calories!

I'm ecstatic!

I lost five pounds in just 1 week!  It was actually an interesting week for me, being that a lot of people have been noticing how I lost some weight.  Me? Really!? I hardly noticed it, I do however, feel a little more "lighter", less sluggish, than usual. It's a wonderful thig to hear from those who I don't really see often. And I'm glad I've started "really trying" to live a more healthier life. Yup, sheer determination and lots of water! My compliments to belletoday!  This works. And I'm on my way!

Big Mommas, on the way to becoming Hot Mommas...

This morning, I had the chance to speak with one of our attending physicians--and am so glad to get great tips from her. She has been on a special diet, which she started about a few months ago because of being newly diagnosed with Diabetes. She looked really slimmed down! Everyone was commenting because everyone saw the differenece! She said she lost 30 lbs in the last 4 months! WOW! And all it took was the sheer determination of maintaining her diet regimen. THIS coming from a person who used to NOT eat vegetables and super loves chocolates and sweets! She said her blood sugar and cholesterol levels have gone down and even when her doctor told her that she could already eat a little chocolate, she would not even give it a thought. She and another attending are on the same track, losing weight the right way. They used to be the "Big Mommas" of our department and now they're both living healthy "big" lives! Now everyone else, especially me, are more inspired and determined  to do the same...

My name is...Mae, and I am a foodaholic.

I work on a daily routine as a hospital employee working 24-hour shifts. It's difficult to have a real meal and not having to do with multiple take-outs which are readily available with just one phone call. Nor do I even have time for exercise, since I'd rather sleep than work another hour of moving my body. One time, I looked myself in the mirror and I knew I didn't like my body. I don't want to wake up in the morning always sluggish and out-of-shape. I hate my big thighs and wide flabby arms dangling below my armpit! I just want to be in my right kind of weight. I'm 150lbs right now, and I'm just 5'0"! I have to start sometime, and I think it's right now.
