Going back to basics

Trying to live a healthier life is never the easiest decision to make cause it requires patience, determination and a lot of will power. Deciding to quit smoking was the hardest thing for me to do. Only 5 days into my cold turkey program, and my days seems to go so slow. I just want it to be over so that I can mark another day of the calendar that I did not smoke. Since everyday is like in Slow-mo for me I tend to snack a lot to compensate for not smoking and I am gaining weight so I have decided that I need to exercise. And the cheapest way to exercise is running.

I have been running before, several rounds on the track oval for training for the volleyball team but ever since I started working I never had the time to regularly run. My last serious run was last february on the Happy Run event.

After that I stopped, since my then bf now my  fiancé doesn't like to run anymore with me so I stopped as well cause I am shy of running alone. After months of procrastinating, I have decided to run alone. I am just thinking running alone is just like going on a diet, its a battle you have to do on your own and it may help stop my craving for a smoke. Plus I miss the feeling of having clear thoughts when your running. And probably when he sees how serious I am again my running buddy will come back to me. :)

So belles my diet starts on monday as well as my training for my upcoming races. I am preparing for 1 3k race on november and 2 5k runs on december. Plus I saw the exercise plan by belle, it fits perfectly in my training, cause I only need to walk/run 30 minutes three to four times a day. Ooh I am so excited :)

QUIT DAY 4

Quitting is really not easy!!!
I am starting to resent it, I feel like I am bloating from deciding to east instead of to smoke. Sinisikmura na ako sa bami ng cany na nakain ko . Hahahaha

Haay hopefully there will be  some sort of help here that would teach me what to choose to eat in replacement of my smoking... :(

Can't wait for diet to start...

Weight loss and Cold turkey smoking

 Hi All,

I learned of this site from W@W. Since I am currently on the hardest part of my life I need all the help I need.

I am 25 years old, female , 128 pounds and increasing, a yoyo dieter, getting married on March 20, 2010, with asthma, was athletic my whole life but stopped when I started working, diagnosed with PCOS(Polycystic Ovaries Syndrome, which makes weight loss impossible), smoker since I was 14 years old and suddenly decided to go cold turkey, after so many attempts of quitting started again on Nov 16, 2009  and now I am on my 3 day the longest I have done so far.

Since my wedding four months from now, the pressure to loose the weight and quit smoking has been the major topic of wedding preparations between me and my mom, imbis na details of the wedding my quitting smoking ang pinaguusapan. Mom ko na mismo ang nagsabi "Anak sinasabi ko sayo pag dating  ng kasal mo at hindi ka pa din tumitigil mag yosi ako mismo pipigil sa kasal mo" Hahahaha But I understand where she is coming from, I have asthma, PCOS, and we have history of Cancer of the lungs, she is just looking after me. Well now I am on my third day of cold turkey, and what I noticed is since I am quitting and trying to quit  smoking I binge on so many things. When I have cravings I end up eating something sweet or something. In the end I am gaining weight... with this site hopefully I will be able to control my weight as well control my craving for a smoke. Another of my problems is my PCOS its a disease to women that gives me more testosterone that what I normal need which makes me gain weight fast, and have problems with pimples, to much hair growth and irregular periods. There is no cure but it can be controlled by regular exercise , correct diet and no smoking.

Why did I decided to quit and loose weight in the same time? It was inevitable... matagal ko ng pinpostpone ang quitting and its now or never. :)

Wish  me luck and pray for me. :)
