Day 20 - Oh oh Hopia

Upon my hubby's arrival home... he was excited to show me his pasalubong which he went out of his way to buy it from China town. It was Hopia!!  Hubby knew that we both enjoy hopia but... it was Hopiang Baboy in Chinoy style - - > meaning REAL pork FAT and LARD plus condol. When he saw my [Oh oh] facial expression I kinda felt he was saddened by it... to appease him, I immediately changed my expression and said "Ah! Thank you sweetee. You really know how much I love Hopia. Your so thoughtful." and joked him "but, don't you want to see me looking like a pin up model anytime soon?" He made a huge grin. ha ha ha ha.

I guess, I got more will power in planning the calories to consume than before. Even when I was out since 4 days ago... I never felt the craving for burger, fries, fried food, salt loaded, oil loaded ulam. Grilled Fish is my usual order. That's a great sign! I hope I won't loose it. But, after dinner, when my husband placed the hopia at our table, signaling I should try it (for he was hard selling how much he enjoyed eating some earlier on his way home), I was tensed that I do not wish to offend him.. I said, "oh alright. Just one hun" I chewed on it... the taste is good but it felt terrible for me. Really, I'm not lying. It was really really terrible. But I have to keep face like "oh yeah its really good" but really guilt sucks! If it was mongo hopia, I would skip my dinner meal and eat two pcs. + a pot of green tea hahahahah.

Oh well... All the things you would do for love.

Thanks for the reminder. But I am fully aware of how much calories does one hopia has ;-) Tracking the total calories I've taken last Wednesday I've only taken 1389 [even with the Hopia], not over and under my 1,200 - 1,550 daily Calorie goals. Plus, I've burned 210 Calories from my Cardio and strength exercise, so... yey!!!

Nope he's not fully aware. I just thought of surprising him of my actions in improving myself. :-) But methinks he's getting some hints.

Really, it was the most awful hopia I've eaten. I did not enjoy it.

That's sweet of you to appease your husband like that, but is he aware of your weight loss efforts?

Trouble with hopia...just one piece is packed with calories, and it's not that satiating. About 200 calories per piece, so it's best to just eat one at a time.
