 Going Organic

Here's what I had for breakfast. Portobello and fried egg panino - I saw this recipe at Jorge Cruise's fanpage at Facebook. (Photo by Andrew Scrivani for The New York Times.)

I went crazy at the Opta Cooperative this afternoon( telephone: 436 36115) and bought all organic veggies and ingredients for my new lifestyle. My doctor told me I only need organic veggies for those I take in uncooked - like green veggie juices and raw salad.

 According to Dr. Mercola:

Cooking and processing food destroys these micronutrients by altering their shape and chemical composition. In this advanced nutritional level you avoid all processed food by eating only organic veggies and fruits.

 I had a dry throat after my shopping so I decided to take a warm cup of Japanese green tea laced with Ginger Brew. This Ginger Brew was made by nuns in Mindoro. It is indeed miraculously (no pun intended) soothing.

Here is a list of my all-organic purchases today (prices are in PhP)

2 K brown jasmine rice:                                160

Wheat grass powder:                                   1000

Sweet Fit Stevia (sugar replacement)         220

1.5k organic lettuce                                        100

800gr Pipino                                                      72

1 tray organic eggs                                        450

1.35 gr organic sayote                                     67.50

350 womboc                                                      28

(11g) 1 bottle roasted sea salt                      600

1 pack wholewheat and veggie siopao      350 - ( aargh this was baad)

ginger brew                                                      120

.75 k tomato                                                        45

Total                                                         PhP3500

```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
If going organic seems pricier than the usual fare, just remember your body is maximizing the nutrients found in raw vegetables. Therefore when taken raw, organic versus processed is best.
Here's a tip in helping support these healthy co-ops: you can buy  customer shares (minimum of 25 shares at PhP5000. payable in one year). There is a 200PhP application fee, and a 10% discount on all purchases.
You got it. The key is being able to sustain the practice. My doctor, Dr Jessica is very practical - she even suggested that I grow my own wheatgrass rather than but the powdered wheatgrass. For now I bought the powder for wheat grass.
That's a good idea, to buy organic veggies only when taking them raw. Or else it'll strain the budget. ;)
Oh I've heard of Jorge Cruise too. Not a bad looking one either. ;)
