"Warm Water is the New Cosmopolitan!" - Tristan Custodio
This is what my friend uttered over dinner, as he and Lucille tried to explain the benefits of drinking warm to hot water instead of cold ones. After that night, I did some researched about warm water. And here's what I've found out.
1. It helps aid digestion
2. If taken in the morning - it prepares the stomach for food by stimulating the glands on its wall
3. Relaxes the body
4. Purifies the body - as we drink warm to hot water, we tend to sweat, which purifies our bloodstream, and helps in removing toxins from our body; it also helps in removing build up deposit in our nervous system
5. Improves blood circulation
6. When taken in the morning it helps get rid of bacteria that is harmful in the throat and intestines, thus it also restore the lost moisture during the night
7. Good remedy for constipation
I've put that to a test. And Yes! It did worked for me. However I'm not bashing on cold water...hey, who wouldn't want a cold glass of water after a very rigorous workout or during a very hot day. Be it cold or warm or hot, we should not forget to take adequate amount of water to keep our body hydrated.
What makes a perfect vacation for you? Do you travel alone and where would one be most likely to find you? Is your idea of a vacation lounging on a poolside deck chair at a five-star resort or burning leeches off your skin during a trek in an Amazonian swamp? Take the test and find out what kind of traveler lurks in your subconscious, and which destination you are truly made for.
For you, nature is sacred and discovering it during your vacation is the best way to regenerate yourself. Getting away from it all is not as far away as one might think! While most vacationers pack themselves like sardines on the beaches, you prefer taking the small shaded footpaths. A cabin in the woods is your answer for getting some good R & R. You enjoy the environment and you have a distinct taste for everything that’s authentic and colorful. You’re a nature-lover at heart and find comfort in earthy atmospheres and rustic surroundings. An idealist and budding ecologist like yourself loves to promote a better world to live in, especially for the future generations to come. Your destination choices are any rugged terrain, vast forests, lush countryside, sprawling farmlands and anything green: Ireland for its healthy wilderness and genuine dwellers, Austria for its quaint villages in rural settings, Canada for its expansive woods and Switzerland for its high mountains and pure air.
tired of false promises to thyself that they would change a thing or two in their lifestyle in order to loose weight. - i know i'm guilty of that too! But now, it's different! I AM TAKING MY WORDS INTO ACTIONS.
1. I promise to JOG - im jogging at least 2x a week and now i've asked the group if they want it 3x a week
2. getting rid of RICE - im getting there...slowly but surely. replacing all bad carbs with good ones..
3. refraining myself from drinking too much soda - done!
4. re-evaluating my habits - done!
5. eating more fruits and veggies - done!
6. not letting emotions ruin my eating habit - guilty of being an emotional eater, now if im in that roller coaster ride, i make sure to eat the right stuff...
hopefully within this year I will be able to achieve my goal that I set last year! This is it! now and forever!
It's my third time to jog regularly. Actually as per our jog schedule, we convene every Thursdays and Saturdays at the ULTRA Oval track for a 30-45 minutes jog (warm-up and cool down included) but we are also encourage to do this in our own turf on a much more regular basis in order for our stamina and fitness to improve more - which I also believe so.
Third time to run. I was kind of amazed by myself when I was able to jog around the oval track twice without stopping (yey!) I'm improving! ahahaha. And that is a nice motivation for me as well... :)
as per food intake...
as of now, I'm trying to ditch coffee for a while - I know! it is hard -- I'm a caffeine addict, but I have too since I think it is messing with my larynx again (had my throat scan a few months back - the doctor said, I should avoid coffee and softdrinks since it is contributing to my high level of acidity thus building up on my larynx) so now, still faithful to water and sole water alone. once in a while I do treat myself with a cup of tea or hot choco for variations.
I thought I'll be having a hard time running -again. Since it has been ages the last time I jogged around the neighborhood.
Yesterday, Thursday morning, marked my first ever serious "be-healthy" training by jogging around the ULTRA Oval Track for more than 30mins. This consist of both walking and jogging with warm up and cool down to. What was so nice about it is that I have a flock of colleagues with me - having the same goals - training. Also this is my preparation too for the upcoming marathon - crossfingers, I can run continously by the time of the marathon arrives.
This is just a jumpstart of a better fitness scheme I have in mind - and hope to be able to keep it up!
