 Stress Fighting Foods

Found this on Yahoo Health; from the author of eat this, not that. here is his list of stress fighting food

1. PAPAYA - Half a medium papaya carries nearly 75 percent more vitamin C than an orange, and provides potent protection against stress.

2. PEPPERMINT TEA - the mere scent of this helps you focus and boosts your performance; makes you more alert and less anxious.

3. PUMPKIN SEEDS - loaded with magnesium that helps fight stress. A cup of pumpkin seeds gives you half your day's magnesium requirements.

4. AVOCADOS - craving for something rich and creamy? avocado can do that because of its monounsaturated, which is healthy, fatty acids and potassium-both of which help combat high pressure.

5. SALMON - omega3 is responsible for maintaining healthy levels of cortisol. Another thing that salmon has is a sleep promoting amino acid called tryptophan. And what is the better way to fight stress is to have a good night sleep.

6. ALMONDS - contains aforementioned monounsaturated fats and mind-calming nutrient vitamin E. just munch 40-50 nuts a day and you are good to go.

7. OATMEAL -  biochemical effect of stress is a depleted stock of serotonin, the hormone that makes you feel cool, calm, and in control. And the best way to induce a steady flow of serotonin, aim to eat fiber-rich, whole-grain carbohydrates.
