It's been a busy week and I've lost track of what I've been having on a daily basis. Suffice to say that I've had a lot of yogurt and a lot of chocolate. Eeek!
To get a break from being online all the time I went by my neighborhood grocer to grab some produce and meat to make Sinigang. They were having a sale on instant brownies so I got a box from Betty Crocker for 71 bucks.
Below is my attempt at making Sinigang.

I seared the meat first and seasoned it with salt, pepper, worcestershire sauce, vinegar, and calamansi juice. Then I dunked it in a pot of meat broth that was simmering beside the pan together with cubed tomatoes, sliced onions, gabi and slices of a white cucumber-like vegetable...what's it called?
I plunked a whole load of kangkong leaves for last. And there you go! My first try at making Sinigang na Baboy. Not bad actually. I ate a serving of it right after it was done cooking and saved the rest for reheating later. Today, I have one last serving left since it was all I had for the entire weekend. That and these:

Brownies! Gooey, chewy, spiked, walnut-studded, peanut butter-dark chocolate brownies! Yum!

I layered the mix, starting with a brownie base followed by walnuts, then the peanut butter and dark chocolate chunks. Then I covered it with another layer of brownie mix. Brownie mix had a splash of Kahlua for that extra goodness. Mmm...

I used an electric oven to bake it seeing as I live in a condo and can also be a bit of a klutz when it comes to big gadgets.
When I shared the baked brownies with the roomies, I got a two thumbs up!
